oh happy day!

so after a long frustrating day at work of being exhausted, dave sent me an email that he was coming to pick me up...then i started feeling really nauseated so i went to the bathroom and the jamba juice(the only thing i had consumed today) came back up. too bad i did't quite make it to the toilet. i just had such a rotten day. when we got home there was a package for me. dave ordered me a new phone. the phone i have had for the past year is junk as anyone who talks to me on the phone can attest. any phone conversation with me is always peppered with "can you hear me now?" and "are you there?" or worse, dropped calls. i have needed a new phone for such a long time and i have had my eye on the blackberry pearls since they came out. i can't wait to get accustomed to all the fun features on this phone...and it is pretty...dave spoiled me so much already on christmas. we received some christmas money from my parents so dave and i used the money to buy each other things that we needed and wanted but would not normally buy for ourselves. dave now has brand new cycling shoes for the upcoming 100 miler he is training for and i have a phone that i will not have to constantly apologize for. thanks mom and dad!

makes me sick...but happy

last week we had another ultrasound. it was so fun to see the baby again, and this time it looked like a baby. we saw a head, two arms and two legs. i just started giggling like crazy when i saw the baby...even though it was the day after christmas, it was definitely our favorite christmas present. it put my pretty much constant morning sickness in perspective. i haven't found anything to ease my queasy tummy. saltines are a temporary fix but they only work while i am eating them and the salt makes me really thirsty. preggie pops don't work, at least they didn't for me. i am eleven weeks pregnant now and i am hoping i am one of those women who is only sick the first trimester, crossing my fingers...

just my opinion...

since it is the beginning of a new year, a lot of people have been blogging about goals and resolutions. i have never been a big fan of the new years resolution because i think if you want to make a change in your life, do it. i don't think waiting for a specific time of year is beneficial, it only puts off what you want to accomplish. dave has not been a big fan of the new year resolution this week because his quiet morning gym has become crowded.

i do like to reflect on the past year and the things i have accomplished and things i have learned and i do enjoy the opportunity and possiblity of a new year, i just don't think you need to wait until that time to establish or renew your own personal goals.

christmas morning

i had such a great holiday. i came home from work on christmas eve and dave had spent his morning off cleaning the house and our hardwood floors were shiny and beautiful. i walked into the kitchen and in the middle of the table was two dozen red roses and a letter to me from dave. it made me cry. i love dave so much and he knows just how to make me feel special. after i read the letter, we went to brunch at mimi's cafe and came home and got ready for dinner at aunt rosemary's house. it was so fun to see rosemary and kent, jennifer, david and catherine and their families. it was the icing on the cake to have my brother thomas arrive at 7:30. he had had such a rough drive in the snow and it was so great to see him and give him a hug. i cannot remember a better christmas. i truly enjoyed the time that i was able to spend with thomas, dave, rachel, jeremy and jj. dave spoiled me silly, and it has been so fun to use the fancy new gadgets that he bought for me. i can't wait to take the christmas decorations down so i can hang up my new mirror, it matches our bookcase perfectly.

rachel, jeremy and jj came over to open presents and eat some brunch. it was so fun to spend time with them.
